Have you ever dreamed of traveling to other planets, where everything you imagine is possible? Just close your eyes and be free to immerse yourself in intergalactic stories woven with the threads of time…
Imagine drifting across the void, through the constellations embroidered into the fabric of the Universe, until you find a world at the end of it all — The Planet of the Golden Dunes.
The Legend of the Dune Spirit
Once upon a time, there was a kingdom made from the most refined and sophisticated gemstones and decorations in all the universe, some said even beyond the universe.
But the inhabitants of the Kingdom were never satisfied with all the beauty they had acquired. They were always searching for more sophisticated aesthetics, scents and sensations that would transport you to the a different realm, glimmering endless beauty that would convey upon you the endless desire to dissolve into something which you know is far greater than yourself…
The Queen and her subjects were all infected by this insatiable, unending, wholly absorbing search for more… and eventually they became worn out from trying to find anything in this Galaxy. They built a spaceship to travel to other Galaxies and Universes. It was not enough just to gather these exhibits of beauty — they wanted to find other worlds or dimensions of which they could become a part.
The Forgotten Garden Fairies
But the Spirit of the Plane, Garden Fairies that had always lived there and tried to communicate with them, were ignored. As time passed, their voices became whisper; then eventually they became silent.
The Garden Spirits are only visible to those who want to see them, those who believe in them. But the Queen of the Kingdom rejected the mere possibility of their existence and calling them “The Whispering Nanoshades,” and announced it publicly by Imperial GemVision broadcast that they were illusions created by the technologies of some unknown species surrounding their planet.
When children occasionally told their parents that they’d seen some glimpse of an ethereal silhouette in their garden, the Queen said it was just their childish imagination. When Poems of the Flowery Creatures appeared on the rocks, she claimed they were just the creations of some artificial intelligence, as well as the songs that some young students were singing, gathering together in the park. She pronounced that they were created by Sentient Machines’ Musical Production and eventually people gave up believing in them…
The Hibernation
And the spirits? Their voices unheard, their presence ignored… They just disappeared and lived in tunnels underneath the Kingdom first, and then, after some time, they were put into a hibernation state in the form of magical seeds.
But after the Kingdom left the planet in search of the most sophisticated glimmering richness in the world, the Garden Fairies started rising from the Golden Sand. They were reborn from the seed genes left from olden times…
The Awakening
Why only now? We can suppose it happened because one intergalactic traveler started making research about this planet. He read the poems engraved upon the rocks by the spirits, he tried to listen to songs in the forgotten gardens — oases in the golden dunes… and he started hearing their whispers.
Then the whispers became songs, and they became louder and louder…
He recorded them and performed these songs wherever he could, from pubs and streets to major arenas on the different planets around the Galaxy, always giving credit to the Garden Fairies of the Golden Dunes.
When they started rising from the sand, he and other intergalactic travelers came there to capture their beauty in artworks and artistic photos, and many folk collected these pictures as they gave them connection to something beyond what they could surround themselves with…
The song of the fairies would not be something that would capture them and make them dissipate into its greatness — it was something much more precious. It helped them rediscover themselves, reconnect with their own true wishes and desires, start telling the truth to themselves… to make their inner secret garden blossom.
The Artwork
Like the intergalactic travelers who captured the fairies’ beauty, I’ve translated their essence into this piece.
For pastel softness and fiery feeling, this artwork was created originally using watercolors and colored pencils for depth, additional contrast, and a more decorative look.
If you want to have this picture from a faraway world on your walls in your interior—welcome to my website print shop, where this and other artworks are already available as museum-quality giclée prints.
Each print is produced and shipped on demand by Theprintspace, a renowned UK fine art studio, ensuring exceptional museum-quality reproduction and fully carbon-neutral production.
